Fall 2014 YASH Scavenger Hunt!

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are SIX contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the ORANGE TEAM–but there is also a red team, a gold team, an blue team, a red team, and an indie team for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

Directions: Below, you’ll notice that I’ve listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the orange team, and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).

Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.

Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by Sunday, Oct 5th, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Today, I am honored to be hosting both YASH newbie and debut author Trisha Leaver on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!

Trisha Leaver lives on Cape Cod with her husband, three children, and one rather excitable black lab. She is an active member of the YA Scream Queens, The Cape Cod Children’s Writers and the SCBWI.

Her co-authored, YA Psychological Horror, CREED, releases November 8, 2014 from FLUX. Her solo YA Contemporary, THE SECRETS WE KEEP, releases April 28, 2015 with FSG/ Macmillan.

Find out more information by checking out her website or find more about the author’s book (including where to buy it) here!

Three went in. Three came out. None even a shadow of who they once were.

When their car breaks down, Dee, her boyfriend Luke, and his brother Mike walk through a winter storm to take refuge in a nearby town called Purity Springs. When they arrive, the emergency sirens are blaring and the small farming town seems abandoned. With no other shelter, they spend the night in an empty house. But they soon discover that not everything in Purity Springs is as it seems. When the town’s inhabitants suddenly appear the next morning, Dee, Luke, and Mike find themselves at the mercy of the charismatic leader, Elijah Hawkins, who plans to make Dee his new wife. Elijah’s son, Joseph, offers to help them escape . . . but the price of his help may be more than Dee and her friends can bear.

Oh my! Doesn’t that just give you goosebumps?!  I know I do.  This sounds like an amazing story and I can’t wait for November to read it. *whines* But I want it now, mommy! 😛

Trisha has had some custom art drawn by Jaye Robin Brown–who is absolutely amazing and is also on the Orange team–and has been awesome enough to share it!

First one is Dee in the bloodletting room.

Second is the Elijah Hawkins’s closet…where the Board of Education is stored!

And don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me, Trisha, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 17. Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the orange team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author! The lovely and fantastic, Dorothy Dreyer!!!!

And a quick note, I’ll be sponsoring a giant book signing in Orlando, Florida in December. I need to get an initial “head count” of interest so I can make sure to get the right size venue for the signing, so if this even remotely interests you, please click here and fill out the short form.

REVELATIONS’ cover is live!

I can’t believe that today’s the day! It’s so so surreal that I’m not focusing on RENEGADE any more.  This time last year, I was worrying over how Renegade would do. Now it’s REVELATIONS’ turn. Wow. Just wow.

Anyway, you want to see the cover not hear me complain about how fast time goes by. LOL.

I’ve been lucky enough to have a TON of extremely awesome bloggers help me with this cover reveal. And I owe them a HUGE debt of gratitude, especially Jaime Arnold from Two Chicks on Books. Thank you, Jaime! <3 <3 And all the other bloggers who are listed below, for being as awesome as they come. 🙂

Also, there’s a contest! It’s pretty easy. 🙂
