YA Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This tri-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are TWO contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the RED TEAM–but there is also a red team for a chance to win a whole different set of twenty-five signed books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt homepage.

Directions: Below, you’ll notice that I’ve listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the RED TEAM and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).
Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by Oct 6, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Today, I am so excited to be hosting Katherine Longshore on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!

Katherine Longshore is the author of GILT, a story of friendship and betrayal in Henry VIII’s court and TARNISH, the story of a young Anne Boleyn, as well as the forthcoming MANOR OF SECRETS (February 2014). Katherine lives in Northern California with three British citizens and one expatriate dog.

Find out more information by checking out Katherine’s website or find more about TARNISH here!

Brash and opinionated newcomer Anne Boleyn doesn’t fit in to the court of Henry VIII where conformity prevails and her fashion sense is frowned upon. In a bid for popularity and a chance to be heard, she takes on an offer by the rakish poet Thomas Wyatt to increase her desirability and make her shine. But when their venture attracts the eye of the king, Anne learns she has more to risk than just her reputation as she ultimately faces a choice between losing her heart and finding her voice.

Doesn’t that sound so awesome! I’ve always loved reading about Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, not to mention GILT was fantastic, so I really need to add this to be ever growing TBR pile. 🙂
And for her super special exclusive content Katherine is sharing the back cover synopsis and first page of the third book in her Tudor series, BRAZEN, which is coming next year!

BRAZEN, publication Summer 2014

Anne Boleyn’s younger cousin Mary Howard has always lived in the shadow of her powerful family. But when she’s married off to Henry FitzRoy, King Henry VIII’s illegitimate son, she and “Fitz” join a tight clique of bright young things who test the boundaries of court’s strict rules with their games, dares, and dalliances. The more Mary gets to know Fitz, the harder she falls for him- but to consummate their marriage would mean breaking the law. Soon, Mary and her friends find themselves at the center of the king’s case against Queen Anne. And Mary is forced to choose between betraying her beloved cousin and losing her beloved Fitz.

First Page Brazen

And don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me, Katherine, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 17. Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the red team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the fabulous AMY PLUM!

BONUS: Also, on the 5th I’ll be posting a contest to win a bunch of awesome things including: books, gift cards, a NOOK, etc. So make sure to check back on the 5th!!
